We appreciate your interest in the iWar School.
The 2008-2009 school year fulfilled and exceeded our expectations in the areas expressed by our core values, which include:
Excellence in the quality of the leadership and guest teaching staff.
The formation of solid friendships and connections.
Significant upgrades in student creativity and confidence.
Intentionally impacting the atmosphere of the city and surrounding region.
Spiritual growth free from the boundaries of religion.
Subject to Change
As believers, we live out of the foundational truth that nothing belongs to us: it's all God's. He enjoys surprises, and He has surprised us once again. We fully expected to begin another 9-month school in September, 2009, but that will not be happening, and we want you to know why.
When I speak of iWar and our students I love to tell people that more often than not, when I would come in for class, the tables would be rearranged in some new way. To me, it was a demonstration of the unleashed creativity represented in our students. In fact, it’s a wonderful picture of the way God keeps things interesting, even in the middle of an assignment!a
Over the last week or so we have come to realize that in the middle of our assignment to train and equip creative worshippers, the Holy Spirit was rearranging our “tables."
Although many have expressed strong interest in a 9-month school, our actual enrollment has remained very low. Our passion for the basic values of iWar training is, if possible, stronger than ever. However, fighting to retain a format that is not the current heart of God becomes religion and benefits no one. So after much prayer and exploration as a team, we agreed that it is time to reinvent the school.
What's Next?
To be honest, we are brainstorming that question with the help of the Holy Spirit. We know that whatever iWar presents will be true to its values. We are exploring shorter alternatives that will achieve the same goals, and encourage you to check this site for upcoming events and information.
Sincerely,
Andrew Hill & the iWar staff
